This long-distance hiking trail crosses the Larzac plateau, following the old <strong>transhumance drives<\/strong>, these ancient paths used by herds between Causses and C\u00e9vennes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the <strong>Caylar<\/strong> or the <strong>Templars Campsite<\/strong>, it is possible to take part of the GR71, for a day trip or a more ambitious loop in the heart of wild and unspoiled nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A historic trail in the heart of Larzac<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The GR71 is divided into several variants (A, B, C, D, etc.) which crisscross the southern Larzac. These routes cross the wide open spaces of the causse, dotted with wash houses, dry stone walls, dolmens, and Templar hamlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GR71D passes through emblematic places such as <strong>The Covered Terrace<\/strong>, <strong>the Caylar<\/strong>, <strong>the Cros<\/strong> or even <strong>Sorbs<\/strong>, offering unobstructed views of the plateaus and an immersion in the natural and pastoral heritage of southern Aveyron and northern H\u00e9rault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hikes starting from the campsite<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the <strong>Caylar<\/strong>, you can directly access a portion of the GR71D by taking the <strong>Roc Castel path<\/strong> or heading towards La Couvertoirade.
